Of the many projects competed for Dignity Memorial, North Americas largest funeral services provider, the one at the Dix Hills location of I. J. Morris was probably the one with the least amount of issues to deal with. This simple renovation included both interior and exterior renovations to bring the outdated appearance more in line with the other locations throughout Long Island.
The existing central corridor was given a richer character with a new vaulted ceiling replacing it's old acoustical dropped ceiling, custom raised panels and new lighting throughout. Additionally the one large chapel space was spruced up with custom raised panels and new lighting. Exterior renovations included new covered entries at both the front and back. Existing entries were in disrepair with the rear entry incorporating a temporary awning that had overstayed its welcome. The new entries provide a more welcoming look and protect those using the space beneath from inclement weather.
Overall the project ran smoothly with the both employees and visitors reacting positively to the much needed updates.
